New York – (March 10, 2008)
Screenvision, a leader in cinema advertising, has been appointed exclusive cinema advertising agency for leading cinema eatery operator, Movie Tavern, LP – an exhibitor combining first-run movies and full service dining. Under this agreement Screenvision has secured exclusive local, regional and national on-screen advertising rights for Movie Tavern’s 87 screen circuit, as well as exclusive promotions rights.
Based in Dallas, TX, Movie Tavern operates 11 locations and 87 screens nationwide, with 82% of their screens in the top 25 DMAs, including Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Denver, as well as screen presence in Columbus and Lexington. Additionally, Movie Tavern is expected to add 40 screens to their network this year with a focus on Georgia, and Virginia and 23 additional screens are planned for 2009.
“It’s exciting to be working with such a unique and growing exhibitor like Movie Tavern,” said Darryl Schaffer, executive vice president of exhibitor relations for Screenvision. “We’re really pleased that this new partnership further expands Screenvision’s presence in some of the top 25 DMAs and affords us the opportunity to work with Movie Tavern as they continue to expand their network.”
Jeff Benson, president and CEO, Movie Tavern added: “With the growing possibilities in the cinema advertising category and with our continual growth, it made sense for us to sign with an industry leader like Screenvision to lead our company in this growing endeavor. With our fine dining options and luxury seating, among other premiums, we’re truly committed to providing a quality movie going experience to the consumer and we’re confident that our association with Screenvision will help further this mission.”
ABOUT MOVIE TAVERN LP
Movie Tavern is the largest and fastest-growing operator of cinema eateries in the United States and the only one with plans for nationwide expansion. Jeff Benson, his wife Jamie, and his life-long friend Dennis Butler were owners of traditional cinemas prior to opening their first Movie Tavern in Ft. Worth, Texas in 2001. In an effort to provide food, drink, and customer service that historically has not been provided by traditional cinemas, the trio developed a cinema-eatery concept that combines fullflavor and high-quality food and drinks, friendly service and first-run movies at this first Movie Tavern. In 2005, the company was recapitalized with the addition of a major equity partner. Their successful management of the concept has expanded the network of Movie Tavern locations to eleven theaters in major United States markets and 87 screens.
