SEE ORLANDO BLOOM IN THE ULTIMATE ROMANCE IN THEATRES NATIONWIDE THIS VALENTINE’S DAY

Actor’s Broadway Turn in Romeo and Juliet Runs February 13-19 in an Exclusive Screenvision Engagement with BroadwayHD

New York, N.Y. – This February, national cinema advertising leader and alternative content provider Screenvision and newly formed company BroadwayHD bring the Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet to movie theatres nationwide. Starring Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) as Romeo and Condola Rashad (Smash, Sex and the City 2) as Juliet, the film has an exclusive run in movie theatres from February 13-19. Tickets for Romeo and Juliet are available at www.BroadwayHD.com.

The stunningly modern stage production has received acclaimed-reviews, including this from the New York Times: “Mr Bloom in a first-rate Broadway debut and the gifted Rashad exude a too fine for this world purity that makes their characters’ love feel sacred.” In addition to Bloom and Rashad, the cast includes Christian Camargo (The Hurt Locker, Dexter), Justin Guarini (American Idol, American Idiot), Tony Award winners Brent Carver (Kiss of the Spider Woman, Sleepy Hollow), Chuck Cooper (Law & Order, American Gangster), and two-time nominee Jayne Houdyshell (Follies). Romeo and Juliet was captured for cinema on November 27 at New York’s Richard Rodgers Theatre by the multiple, Emmy award-winning Don Roy King (Saturday Night Live).

“Partnerships such as this give moviegoers nationwide the opportunity to experience Broadway programming that they otherwise might not have access to, and in turn help our exhibitor partners maximize attendance during off-peak times,” said Darryl Schaffer, Executive Vice President, Operations and Exhibitor Relations for Screenvision. “BroadwayHD is doing amazing work to make the arts more accessible to all and we are proud to be a part of their mission.”

Through the partnership with BroadwayHD, a new company created by the show’s Tony-award winning producers Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley, Romeo and Juliet will have broad distribution throughout the United States and Canada with multiple exhibitions. With five Tony Award winning productions, including 2011 Best Play War Horse, and a combined seven Tony Awards, Lane and Comley are now venturing to bring the power of the theater to the cinema.

“Broadway is an art that we believe everyone should experience, and now with BroadwayHD we are committed to making that possible” said Lane, producer, co-founder of BroadwayHD. “Romeo and Juliet will be the first show of many available for movie theatres and other ancillary formats.”

“Screenvision shares our vision of accessibility to all theater lovers and through its vast network of exhibitor partners allows us to give more people nationwide the chance to enjoy the romance and rarity of one of the stage’s greatest works in time for Valentine’s Day,” said Comley, producer, co-founder of BroadwayHD.
